Did the Pharisees believe in Jesus?

Asked 3 years ago

I've been wondering: What was the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Pharisees? If they did not believe in Jesus, what did the Pharisees believe in?

The Pharisees were a group of people that was formed within the Jewish community in the 2nd century B.C. The group was made up of people from the middle class who were portrayed to be staunch in the Jewish Law and way of life however in the bible they were recognised as people who were fake in that reference.

The Pharisees were able to use their traditional ways and customs to present themselves as firm believers to mask their true selves which were identified as false and harmful.

Jesus did not agree with the beliefs of the Pharisees and pointed out that they were following a religion that could be dangerous. He further described them as pretending to be holy and righteous and rather having no sense of kind-heartedness or humanity. Jesus advised his followers to not follow or believe in the group of Pharisees.

This group did not agree with the ways of Jesus when it came to following the law and the customs thereof and claimed that he was speaking of God in an offensive way. Jesus always exposed the lies and highlighted the fake ways of the Pharisees to the people at that time. He used their life results to confirm his findings.

The Pharisees were not accepting of the truth about their lives being exposed by Jesus and went on to continuously trying to get Jesus sentenced to death by the Roman governor. It was the people within the group that betrayed Jesus and not the Jewish religion itself. Their persistence to get rid of Jesus attributed to his death.

The principles of the Pharisees exist in today’s world however Jesus believed that getting rid of him, the messenger, did not get rid of his message and way of life and also exists in today’s world.
