The Mount of Olives in Jerusalem was the site of many important events in the New Testament. It was here that Jesus prayed and was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus taught his disciples the Lord's Prayer on the Mount of Olives, and from here he looked down on Jerusalem and wept when he foresaw the city's destruction.
