According to the Bible, the Ammonites are a group descending from Abraham's nephew Lot. In Deuteronomy 2:19, God instructed the children of Israel not to disturb the Ammonites because of their relationship with Lot.
According to history, the Ammonites worshipped the God Malcom. It is recorded that King Solomon accepted an Ammon woman into his Harem and she made him worship the Ammon god.
