The biggest find of sunken treasure in Israel was the coast of Caesarea. Over 2,000 gold coins were discovered dating from the 10th-12th century. More treasure was found near Caesarea from two 3rd-4th century sunken ships including silver coins, gemstones, bells, and a gold ring. There are also known shipwrecks in the Red Sea and off the coast of Ashkelon.
