When is the best time to cut down my Christmas tree?

I'm itching to cut down the Christmas tree and get it decorated, etc.! When should I do it, and how long do I have to leave the tree to settle before decorating it?

Don’t be in a hurry, a well-watered cut tree can’t stay fresh for more than 4-6 weeks. I would say late November or mid-September instead. After cutting your tree, here are a few tips to keep them fresh:

1. Choose a healthy Christmas tree

2. Make sure your tree has enough water: you do not have to use distilled water or mineral water. Ordinary tap with no additive should be okay.

3. Keep the tree away from heat sources.

4. Trim the trunk

5. Take your tree down before it dries out
