Why was myrrh used when Jesus died?
I read that they used myrrh at his burial. Was myrrh used for embalming?

Yes, in Bible days, Myrrh was used as an anointing oil and also for embalmment. This is why some Bible scholars say that Jesus Christ being presented myrrh at his birth is a prefiguring of his death and embalmment.
