Barn vs. manger: What's the difference?

Asked 2 years ago

It was mentioned that the birth of Jesus took place in a stable where he was laid in a manger. Are a barn and a manger the same thing?

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, there is a significant difference between a manger and a barn. A manger is defined as being a food trough designed to allow livestock to feed in a central location. A barn on the other hand is a building with a roof and solid walls.
