What do Israelites traditionally eat during Christmas?

Asked 3 years ago

Hello! I want to spoil my family with a full-blown Israeli Christmas holiday with traditional food, customs, and a Chrismas eve celebration. Any suggestions? I'm all ears!

Christmas in Israel is celebrated with singing carols, gift-giving and delicious meals on Christmas Eve. These meals consist of roasted stuffed (rice and almonds) turkey seasoned with pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. It usually includes Qidreh, a wood-fire oven cooked lamb and rice dish as well as Malfouf, ground lamb and rice rolled in cabbage leaves. For something sweet, Mamoul (butter cookies) filled with ajweh (date paste).
