How did they build Masada to get the water there?

There were large cisterns refilled by rainwater. Water was also delivered through a network of dams and channels into these during the winter floods. These cisterns must be huge because among other things they must be able to fulfill at least two bathhouses, a swimming pool, and a ritual bath.
