Can you eat salt from the dead sea? If so, does anyone know what it tastes like?

In its natural state, the salt found in the Dead is not eatable. This is because of the presence of minerals like magnesium which give it a bitter taste. In ancient times, it was well lauded for its health and therapeutic properties, not for its use in cooking. To turn it into an ingredient that can be used in cooking, the salt is dissolved, cleaned from some of these minerals, recrystallised, and rinsed again.
