What were frankincense and myrrh used for in ancient times?

In old times, Frankincense was used majorly as incense. Myrrh was an ingredient in the incense Ketoret. It is also used as an ingredient for anointing oils used in the tabernacle and for anointing kings. Myrrh can also be used for embalming dead bodies.
