Today the territory of the ancient Kingdom of Moab lies within the Kingdom of Jordan, along most of the eastern shore of the Dead Sea. Moab is mentioned many times in the Bible, and Moab was one of the sons of Lot. God renewed his covenant with the Israelites in Moab, and it was here that Moses died and was buried.
