The name Levi is derived from the Israelite clan called the Levites. They were traditionally associated with the care of God’s temple. As Christians, we are encouraged to emulate this role. Being a Levite for Christ implies that we take up Christ’s cross and build His kingdom.

Levi is the third son of Jacob and Leah. According to the book of Genesis, it means “this time my husband will cling to me because I have given him three sons”. Leah gave him this name because she still hoped her husband would love her. She was worthy of her husband´s love, but I think he didn´t even try. We should never fully rely on men, we have Christ for that.
