From the New Testament God said He views His people as His bride. During the period where Hosea and Gomer were married, Isreal was being unfaithful to God. God uses Gomer’s infidelity as a symbol of Isreal’s backslidden practices. Hosea must commit to Gomer because God lovingly commits to Isreal.
