Why is Jesus' birthday celebrated on Christmas?

There is no recorded date of the birth of Jesus in the Bible. It is believed that Mary was told about the birth of Jesus, on the 25th of March and counting nine months after that is the 25th of December. The first time it is recorded as being celebrated on 25 December is 336 A.D.
