Is white water rafting safe?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi, I'm looking for activities for my boyfriend and me while we are in Israel. It seems like they have white water rafting there. While it sounds fun, it also sounds scary. What are the risks? How safe is it?

Yes, whitewater rafting is very safe. Statistically, the fatality rate for rafting is just around 0.5 per 100,000 users daily; rafting is safer than recreational swimming or bicycling. Most of the time, the risks involved in rafting are injuries sustained from smashing, banging, brushing and smacking up against rocks. These risks can be reduced if you choose a reputable rafting company and follow all their guidelines.
