What is the veil in Christianity?

Asked 3 years ago

Hi, I am pondering the concept of wedding veils in Christianity. Why is it a tradition for women to wear them?

When looking at the King James Version Dictionary, we read that a veil refers to a curtain or cover hiding the object or person. It was believed that the bride was vulnerable to evil, the veil hid the bride from the evil. By wearing a veil, the bride shows honour and humility towards the groom.
