According to research, Tel Megiddo is the ancient city of Megiddo. It's ruins form a tell (archaeological mound), located in northern Israel near Kibbutz Megiddo, about 30 kilometers south-east of Haifa. Megiddo is well-known for its historical, geographical, and theological significance, particularly under the Greek name Armageddon. Megiddo was an important Canaanite city-state during the Bronze Age and a royal city in the Kingdom of Israel during the Iron Age.
