There are three types of angels mentioned in the Bible.
- Seraphim - they are only mentioned once in the Bible. They are angels with six wings flying above God on His throne in heaven.
- Cherubim - are mentioned the most in the Bible. They are God's messengers and does whatever he asks.
- Archangels - they are the "chief angels". We know of two archangels, Michael the warrior and Gabriel the messenger.
